Q. How long have Dil Se Strings been playing?
A. Dil Se Strings were formed in 2006 by Asian British Music to provide Asian wedding and corporate clients a new and unique entertainment option. Our pool of musicians are all professional musicians who either teach or play in orchestras around the UK, with experience of playing at some of the biggest venues and for many high profile clients too. Dil Se Strings use two violins, a viola and a cello for performances.

Q.Can I see Dil Se Strings perform before deciding if I want to book?
A. That's a tricky one! The majority of our events are private events (weddings and corporate bookings) so it's difficult or inappropriate to invite clients to someone else's event! The best way to hear Dil Se Strings' unique sound is to check our YouTube and other social media pages.

Q. How do I book Dil Se Strings?
A. Once you are happy to go ahead, we will send you a list of questions in order for us to complete our performance agreement. We will then email you our agreement and as soon as you check the information, sign and return the paperwork. We can take your payment by online bank transfer or cash or cheque payment direct over the counter to our HSBC account. Once funds are cleared we will send you a confirmation email.
We operate strictly on a first-come-first-served basis so an enquiry doesn't mean a booking has been confirmed. Only a signed agreement and cleared deposit is a guarantee of an event being booked.

Q. What happens if I want to cancel my booking?
A. If you wish to cancel after having paid a deposit and exchanged contracts, you will loose your deposit and in addition:
- If you cancel within 90 days of the event 50% of the outstanding balance is payable
- If you cancel within 30 days of the event 100% of the outstanding balance is payable

Please remember, as soon as you pay a deposit we confirm our musicians and possibly turn away other bookings for the same date/time.

Q. How much space will Dil Se Strings need?
A. Our quartet need around 3m x 2m (or 10ft by 7ft) ideally but if they are required to take less space we can try our best! We also need 4 armless chairs for the quartet.

Q. How many breaks do you take?
A. The musicians take a 10 minute break after the first hour of playing but will adapt to your needs and the event accordingly. We can also take one longer break if required so that you can get your speeches and ceremonies completed.

Q. Can you play for just an hour?
A. The minimum booking time we charge for is two hours as our musicians also teach or play with other music ensembles and orchestras which mean playing for just one hour would mean missing other potential lucrative work. However, we will always look at your particular request and help if we can!

Q. How long do Dil Se Strings take to set-up?
A. As long as seating, staging and performance areas are ready for the musicians to use, Dil Se Strings will only need around 20 minutes to be ready and in place, but in most case the musicians will arrive at least 45 minutes before their start time. If a sound check is required we will allow some extra set-up time, as appropriate.
Do we have to provide food and drink for the musicians?
We would be grateful if you could supply soft drinks and if possible some light snacks.

Q. Can you play outside?
A. Our musicians all own highly valuable and sometimes antique instruments which are personal treasures. Ultimately we reserve the right not to play outdoors, as no musician wishes for their instrument to get wet or exposed to hot weather so if you wish for the quartet to play outside pleasure ensure there is adequate shading and cover (like in a gazebo) and hopefully the weather on the day doesn't prevent us from playing outdoors.

Q. Can you play a song we specifically want?
A. We have a very comprehensive playlist but if your special song is not on our list we would require 6 weeks' notice and an additional charge of £80 to arrange the song.

Q. Can anyone else perform or sing with the quartet?
A. Unfortunately not as our music and rehearsals are all done with four musicians in mind and any other additions will mean the charm and sound of our music might be spoiled. Also, in many cases artists' public liability policies do not cover third party performers.

Q. Do Dil Se Strings require electricity or amplification?
A. You are able to hire our PA system and sound engineer (microphones, speakers, stands, amps, mixer) for an additional charge if required. We would highly recommend having PA in place if you have an audience of over 120 people. We need access to a power point in case we need lighting.
